Where Cytofit Started
Cytofit started with a concrete bottleneck in cancer immunotherapy research. Rich CyTOF datasets were being generated, but turning them into meaningful biomarker insights required a fragmented stack of tools, scripts, and time-consuming iterations.
To remove that friction, Cytofit began as a pro bono project focused on making advanced analysis workflows easier to run and iterate.
Built With Domain Experts
The first versions of Cytofit were developed through close collaboration with mass cytometry and cell therapy experts connected to Oslo Cancer Cluster, and shaped by experienced cancer immunotherapy researchers at Oslo University Hospital and Akershus University Hospital.
The goal from day one was practical: reduce workflow overhead and shorten the path from single-cell measurements to interpretable biomarker insight.
Cloud Workflow
Early development focused on critical steps in the mass cytometry pipeline such as data cleaning, calibration, and gating strategies. As needs expanded, core methods were generalised into reusable building blocks and the pipeline was redesigned to better support different experimental designs and dataset variation. Cytofit later matured into a secure and stable cloud platform.
Cytofit was released to advanced pilot cloud users in December 2025. Their feedback continues to guide feature prioritisation and performance improvements as the platform evolves.
